The Deserted Baikonur Cosmodrome Explored by a Photographer

An awesome collection of urbex photos by Russian photographer Ralph Mirebs, investigating a deserted section of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, leading us into the ruins of the USSR space shuttle project. The Baikonur Cosmodrome, placed in the middle of Kazakhstan, was build in 1956, and this giant facility was used for the making of the Russian space shuttles between 1974 and 1993. Note that a lot of parts of the enormously big Baikonur Cosmodrome are still functioning and used till today. From this place, Soyuz rockets are launched, supplying the International Space Station in supplies and crew members.
