Can you think of living in one of these apartments? It’d be like having your own tree house in the city.
The Toronto Tree Tower is sustainable high-rise project constructed of cross-laminated timber that features an amazing collection of hanging gardens.
Created as a teamwork between Pendaarchitects and Tmber, Toronto Tree Tower introduces an substitute to the glass and steel landscape of cities.
The proposed design is built of few rises 18 stories and the building combine residential and public place.
IF YOU WALK THROUGH THE CITY AND SUDDENLY SEE A TOWER MADE OF WOOD AND PLANTS, IT WILL CREATE AN INTERESTING CONTRAST.
“Our cities are a assembly of steel, concrete and glass,” writes Chris Precht, the Head of Penda. “If you walk through the city and suddenly see a tower made of wood and plants, it will create an interesting contrast.”
“The warm, natural appearance of wood and the plants growing on its facade bring the building to life and that could be a model for environmental friendly developments and sustainable extensions of our urban landscape.”
Each apartment unit is a modular concept that would be constructed offsite before being transported and stacked on the foundation. The modular design allows for faster, quieter, and more eco-friendly build.
